I want to tell you something I don’t think gets said enough in the massage world.
For most of my life, I thought massage was for other people. Affluent people. People with spa memberships, disposable income, and the kind of schedule that allows for a leisurely afternoon of self-indulgence. I had only a handful of massages in my entire life before I decided to go to massage school — and even then, I thought of bodywork mostly as relaxation. A treat. A luxury item you splurged on once in a while and felt a little guilty about afterward.
Massage school changed everything.
What I learned — and what I now know in my bones — is that bodywork is not a luxury. It is healthcare. It belongs in the same conversation as nutrition, sleep, movement, and mental health. It is one of the most powerful tools we have for managing chronic pain, stress, anxiety, and the cumulative wear that daily life puts on our bodies and nervous systems.
And for too long, it has been priced and positioned in a way that keeps it out of reach for the people who need it most.
That’s what I’m here to change. And that’s why I’m making some significant changes to how Trillium Holistics operates — changes I hope will make consistent, meaningful bodywork accessible to more people in our community.
What’s New at Trillium Holistics
A New Home Base
I am thrilled to announce that I am now offering sessions at Waynesville Wellness, 540 Dellwood Road, in a private treatment room available every Monday and Saturday. This new space gives me the ability to see more clients, more consistently, in a comfortable and professional setting right here in Waynesville.
Sliding Scale Pricing — And No Tips, Ever
Because wellness should not be a privilege, I am now offering sliding scale rates for most session lengths. This means you choose what you pay within a set range, based honestly on your own financial situation. No questions asked. No judgment. Ever.
The lower end of the scale is for those who genuinely need it. The higher end helps support access for others. Every rate — wherever you land on the scale — is a complete, whole payment. Not a discounted one.
And I want to be absolutely clear about one thing: tips are never expected or accepted at Trillium Holistics. The session fee is the full fee, always. I want you to leave the table feeling cared for, not doing math in your head.
Here’s how the pricing breaks down:
| Session Length | Rate |
|---|---|
| 30 minutes | $50 (fixed rate) |
| 60 minutes | $75 – $100 (sliding scale) |
| 90 minutes | $110 – $150 (sliding scale) |
| 120 minutes | $145 – $200 (sliding scale) |
The 30-minute session is offered at a fixed rate and is not part of the sliding scale.
The 30-Minute Session 6-Pack
For clients who want to build a consistent short-session routine, I’m offering a 6-pack of 30-minute sessions for $270 — that’s $45 per session, a 10% savings off the standard rate.
- Must be used within 3 months of purchase
- Non-transferable
- No sliding scale on this package
This is a great option for maintenance clients, people who are new to regular bodywork, or anyone who wants to work a shorter session into a busy schedule on a consistent basis.
Afterpay Available
Because access to bodywork shouldn’t depend on perfect timing with your budget, I am pleased to accept Afterpay for massage packages and pre-paid session bundles of $400 or more — split into four interest-free installments with no hidden fees.
This is designed for clients who are ready to commit to consistent care and want the flexibility to pay for it over time. It is not available for individual single-session bookings.
Ready to build your care plan and pay for it on your terms? Reach out and we’ll put it together.

Why Routine Massage Is Healthcare, Not a Luxury
One massage feels amazing. Consistent massage changes your life.
When I was in massage school, one of the most profound shifts I experienced was understanding that the benefits of bodywork are cumulative. A single session can relieve tension, calm the nervous system, and leave you feeling like a new person — but it’s the regular, consistent practice of bodywork that creates lasting, structural change in how your body holds stress, manages pain, and recovers from the demands of daily life.
Here’s what the research and practice consistently shows about routine massage:
It reduces chronic pain. Regular bodywork addresses the root patterns of muscle tension and restriction that cause chronic pain — not just the symptoms. Over time, your body learns to hold less tension, and pain that has become a daily presence begins to recede.
It calms the nervous system. We live in a state of near-constant activation. Massage works directly with the parasympathetic nervous system — the “rest and digest” system — helping your body shift out of fight-or-flight and into genuine rest. With regular sessions, your nervous system becomes better at making that shift on its own.
It improves sleep. When the nervous system is dysregulated and the body is holding tension, sleep suffers. Clients who receive bodywork regularly consistently report deeper, more restorative sleep — often one of the first benefits they notice.
It supports mental health. Massage reduces cortisol — the primary stress hormone — while increasing serotonin and dopamine. For people managing anxiety, depression, or chronic stress, regular bodywork can be a meaningful part of a comprehensive approach to mental wellness.
It strengthens immune function. Studies have shown that regular massage increases the activity of natural killer cells — the immune system’s first line of defense. When we are chronically stressed, immune function suffers. Bodywork helps restore it.
It increases flexibility and range of motion. Tight muscles and restricted fascia limit how we move and contribute to injury. Regular bodywork keeps tissues supple, joints mobile, and the body moving the way it’s designed to.
It speeds recovery. Whether you’re an athlete, someone who works physically demanding jobs, or simply a person whose body takes a daily beating from sitting at a desk, regular massage accelerates recovery and reduces the accumulation of tension that leads to injury.
It gives you time to simply be. In a world that demands constant output, a massage session is one of the few places where you are invited — required, even — to be completely still, completely present, and completely cared for. That matters. Don’t underestimate it.
Think of it the way you think about exercise, nutrition, or sleep. One good workout is wonderful. One nourishing meal is wonderful. But a consistent practice is what transforms your health over time. Bodywork is no different.
Who This Is For
This is for the person who — like I once did — assumes massage just isn’t for them.
For the person living with neck and shoulder tension so long they’ve forgotten what it feels like without it.
For the caregiver who pours everything into others and leaves nothing for themselves.
For the worker whose body carries the weight of long hours, screens, and chronic stress.
For the person managing chronic pain who has tried everything else.
For the athlete who pushes their body hard and wants to recover smarter.
For anyone who has thought “I should really get a massage” — and then let cost, or time, or the belief that it’s a luxury get in the way.
It isn’t a luxury. It’s care. And you deserve it.
